Founded by Viktor Tan
SLORRIE was founded by Viktor Tan, a bilingual coordinator from Guangdong, China. In his native Hoklo language, his family name 陈 is pronounced “Tan.” The name SLORRIE comes from “Sail to Glory,” with the Chinese name 航盛. It originally began as a small cross-border retail business serving customers in the Philippines.

How SLORRIE Began
While working in the Philippines, Viktor noticed that products sourced directly from China could offer local buyers more choice and, in many cases, better pricing. SLORRIE sold electronics, accessories, motorcycle parts, and other consumer products through referrals, Facebook local marketplaces, and later Shopee.

A New Direction
In 2019, Viktor began putting more time into SLORRIE. The pandemic then made it impossible to return to the Philippines, bringing the original retail operation to a stop. After returning to China, he joined a Spanish logistics company and worked in third-party inspection coordination, serving clients mainly in Europe, the United States, and Latin America.
